To start with, the developers come up with a brand new feature: mutating factors. These make enemies normal and mythical more powerful during expeditions, which aims to make players think about a strategy before starting. In addition to being more difficult, these fights allow get new resources and rewards which will give more opportunities to players to increase their level.

Ultimately, the developers’ plan is to alternate the difficulty levels of these mutations every week, but within the framework of RTP, these changes will take place every 48 hours in order to be able to test the 10 levels of difficulty offered. Among the shipments that may be subject to change, we find the Dynasty Shipyard, the Garden of Genesis, as well as the Instrument of Lazarus. During these 48 hours, players will be able to experience 8 different combinations of mutations in a row. These will be displayed in the interactive game shipping menu with the level of difficulty, the recommended equipment score, but also the qualification criteria.

To be able to best test these mutations, players participating in the January RTP will receive high level gear, i.e. gear score of 600. The developers made this choice to encourage competitive groups of players to explore the higher difficulty levels. Players who take part in these mutations will receive a score based on their overall performance, which will be shared by group members.

The categories that will be taken into account to calculate the score are: time, AI kills, Mythic enemy kills, team losses, and respawns. Players will also enjoy bonus multipliers if, for example, they have a low number of respawns, if they were quick and if they were able to eliminate all the targets. All of these factors will determine whether the group receives a Bronze, Silver, or Gold score.

The higher the score and difficulty, the better the rewards. The drop frequency of Mythic enemies encountered during Expeditions is much higher than normal, and players will be able to obtain level 5 equipment by participating in the Dynasty Shipyard Mutant Expedition.

During the final week of testing, players will be given a set of gear rated at 625 to help overcome the difficulty of the later mutation levels.
