Dr. Stone volume 19
Dr. Stone is a manga drawn by Boichi and written by Inagaki Riichiro. Still in progress with 23 volumes in Japan, it is the nineteenth volume that comes out in France on January 05. The series tells the story of humanity’s return to the Stone Age, following the appearance of strange green rays all over the Earth, and follows the adventures of Senkuu Ishigami, a genius of science, who will strive to reproduce the greatest advances made by human beings. He is accompanied by Taiju Ooki, who is moved by the desire to declare his love to his classmate. An animated adaptation exists, produced by TMS Entertainment (Detective Conan, Fruit Basket, Relife …): already two seasons have been broadcast, which cover all the narrative arcs up to Stone wars. Once the anime has been watched (available as a simulcast on Crunchyroll), all you have to do is resume with the tenth volume of the saga.
Demon Slayer Volume 20
Completed in November 2024 in Japan, the manga Demon slayer continues to appear with us. It is the twentieth volume which appears on January 12th and which marks the beginning of the end for the manga of Koyoharu Gotoge since it has only 23 volumes. The twentieth is part of the narrative arc of the Infinity Castle, the first part of the last part of the history of Demon slayer. Eleventh arc of the manga, it is therefore well after that of the pleasure district : it is the latter which is the main plot of season 2 of the animated adaptation of the studio MAPPA, broadcast in Japan since December 05, 2024. No date concerning a release on the simulcast platforms (Wakanim, Crunchyroll or DNA) has not been shared. The most impatient can watch the first narrative arcs, available on Crunchyroll and Wakanim, and then resume with volume 8: it corresponds to the end of the narrative arc of the Infinity Train.
Beastars volume 20
Beastars, this is one of the surprises of the last few years. Popularized by its anime adaptation, Paru Itagaki’s manga takes place in a world where humanoids with animal features have replaced humans. Through the eyes of Legoshi, a wolf still in high school, we see how a society ruled by animals would organize. And it is clear that there are problems similar to those observed today on our planet: inter-species discrimination, segregation, marriage between different species prohibited, killings of vegetarians by carnivores … In spite of himself, Legoshi will be find at the heart of his various problems but tries all the same to solve them. In volume 20, he must capture Melon: a half-gazelle, half-leopard hybrid species that kills elephants to resell their horns on the black market. The anime adaptation, available on Netflix, has already aired two seasons: they span four of the manga’s five story arcs.
Tokyo Revengers Volume 16
Best seller in Japan alongside Demon slayer and Jujutsu kaisen, Tokyo Revengers also released in France. If the Hexagon is ten volumes behind compared to the Japanese archipelago, volume 16 which is about to be released remains more advanced than the excellent animated adaptation produced by Lidenfilms. Tokyo Revengers tells the story of Hanagaki Takemitchi, a young man of 26 years old. He learns by chance of the death of Hinata, his girlfriend when he was in high school. As he sees death coming from a fall on the subway rails, he is propelled twelve years back and to his college years. He then decides to do everything to prevent Hinata’s death by integrating the Tokyo Maji Gang and then finds himself in a case more complicated than it seems. The animated adaptation Tokyo Revengers is available on Crunchyroll, and covers the manga up to the story arc of Valhalla. It is volume n ° 9 which takes up the sequence of events.
My Hero Academia volume 31
First published in Japan in November 2014, the manga My Hero Academia has come a long way since then. He is still a hit on the archipelago (fifth best-selling manga of the year, ahead of One piece) and can also be imported into France since it is volume n ° 31 which will be released next january 27, or only a tome behind the Japanese versions. It has also come a long way since the author, Horikoshi Kohei, announced at the end of 2024 that “if all goes well, the manga ends in 2024At the moment, this is the narrative arc of the War for the Liberation of the Paranormal. Published between 1994 and 1998, the manga Kenshin the Wanderer tells the story of a samurai in Japan in 1867. The Elusive Samurai
Revealed at the same time as Doron Dororon, The Elusive Samurai is also a work to watch closely. It takes up the historical events around the Kamakura shogunate in 1333. We follow the story of Hojo Tokiyuki, son of the shogun (military governor) and destined to take over the military and political responsibilities of his father. Except that the young boy is only prepared for two things: flight and discretion. Two talents that do not go from father to the status of samurai, renowned for a sense of honor and his very strict code and in particular on the acceptance of death. In 1333, he was devastated by the disastrous fate which struck his clan: his brother was beheaded, his father committed suicide, while his fencing masters died in combat and his bride was raped and massacred. Following this incident, he is recruited from a monk where he will develop his talent for survival in order to develop a plan for revenge.
