Zelda Breath of The Wild: Making mods can net you big

Our colleagues report that a YouTuber called PointCrow has launched a contest inviting modders to create a multiplayer mod for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. A challenge that can be worth the candle, because the creator promises a reward of 10,000 dollars to the person who will manage to create said mod, respecting a few rules. For example, the created mod should be accessible from anywhere on the map, be playable by PointCrow a week or two before release, and then be playable by anyone who wishes.

In the idea, the mod will also have to allow four players to participate, but the requirement is then lowered to two. The full list of conditions can also be accessed through PointCrow’s Twitter account. The sum may seem enormous or create a feeling of mistrust, but our colleagues consider that the whole seems legitimate. Some observers say, however, that the sum is small compared to the work required, and that the reward is more likely to go to someone who has already started a project like this than to someone who would do it for the occasion.

Last but not least, the mod must be finished at least two months before the release of Following Breath of the Wild. A somewhat vague deadline, given that the title is expected for 2024 without further details. Remember that the title was published by Nintendo on WiiU and Switch, and that it is not intended to be moddable. An important point, which could quickly put an end to the contests if Nintendo were to get involved. However, not marketing the mod could help avert the storm.
