Last July, we were amazed to learn that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Extraction could not honor its original release date and that the latter therefore gave us an appointment in 2024! If the time was long to get there, the interval was sufficiently important for Ubisoft to allow us to better understand the ins and outs of this new opus.
Ubisoft had already taken care to take stock last August, but has since been discreet around the game. A way to take a step back before the big leap? It would seem since, recently, the publisher has made a series of announcements about Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Extraction, whether through a eight minute long video or a resounding announcement in collaboration with Xbox and Microsoft! Thirteen days before its release, the game was revealed as part of a preview and continues its communication and details its lore around the Chimera parasite.
The weather is brilliant and the world is doing its best before it sinks into utter chaos due to the resurgence of the Chimera parasite. This progressive descent into hell is recorded in a series of audio diaries staged by Ubisoft in a never-before-seen trailer.
At the microphone, we find the director of R&D REACT, Dr. Elena Álvarez, who explains how our unit, REACT, is brought to lend a hand to exterminate this parasite. Along with her team, she is constantly collecting data to understand how to regain ground in the face of this alien infection. However, the teams made a strange discovery there by digging into its DNA!
Quickly, the unit takes action and manages to identify 12 types of Archeans and other creatures from mutations. Without listing all of them, Ubisoft’s trailer reviews some of the threats players such as the Ranger and the Alpha will face. As if the threat was not great enough, the REACT team must adapt to the constant evolution of these creatures!
While the mutant spawn sends its minions, the parasite itself is fomenting something terrible that you must avoid at all costs and urgent action is required ! This is good because Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Extraction will put you to the test very soon, on January 20, on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PS4, Xbox One and Stadia!
