Featuring a temporary demo soon after its announcement and a technical issue resolved, Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin is expected on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, PS4 and Xbox One. Developped by Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja, the title will feature Jack and his allies, Ash and Jed, who seek to defeat Chaos in his temple.
They will notably be faced with Garland, the main antagonist of the first game, but they will also meet various characters and creatures, which are revealed a little more today. So let’s start with Sophia, a warrior having “the same convictions” as Jack and who will join the group at some point. They will also come across the road to Astos, king of the Dark Elves, residing in the heart of the western keep, and which seems to know the position of the Crystals. On the creature side, players will face Tiamat, the terrible wind demon with the appearance of a dragon with many heads. The last place put forward is none other than the flying fortress, a marvel of technology containing the remains of an ancient civilization. It is said that the Wind Crystal is concealed. Finally, Square Enix unveils a series of captures from events occurring in-game.
Who says Final Fantasy says jobs, which are actually roles that can be chosen by different characters and which offer various specific skills. Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin will not escape the principle, and the developers urge players to try various combinations. Some jobs will be available immediately while others will be unlocked as you progress. Obviously, the most powerful are to be found for those who will succeed in obtaining enough experience in the unlocked jobs. Among the available jobs, we will find the swordsman, which is Jack’s basic job, and which allows him to use a two-handed sword capable of attacking and parrying. To land a side hit, players will be able to use a particular skill that deals area damage.
For its part, the mage role will allow you to use a sledgehammer and cast elemental spells, the power of which can be increased according to the casting time. Finally, the team puts the role of Pugilist forward, which specializes in melee attacks. By performing the right combos, it will be possible to do even more damage to opponents.
