We told you about it on January 04: last Tuesday, an update was deployed by Sledghehammer Games on Call of Duty: Vanguard. This reduced the duration of the mortar barrage and made adjustments to certain weapons such as snipers, shotguns or even fire-generating weapons.. An update followed by the announcement of a new adjustment but this time on Call of Duty: Warzone. It is Raven Software, studio behind Activision’s battle royale, which indicates that an adjustment is coming regarding the Double Barrel Akimbo shotgun, considered too powerful by many players. The day after this announcement, it is via a new tweet that Raven opens the door to the next upcoming adjustments:
We feel that MW and BOCW Weapons are in a fairly good spot. Similar to the BOCW integration, VG Weapons will need time to receive the adjustments necessary to nicely slot into the Warzone ecosystem.
– Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) January 8, 2024
We feel that the weapons from Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War are well integrated into Warzone. We need some adaptation time to adapt Vanguard’s weapons to the Warzone ecosystem.
In an effort to make the Warzone weapon set consistent, Raven Software adds that they need to make some general adjustments to Warzone:
As mentioned before, we will be decreasing base ADS Speeds across all titles. This will increase Time to Kill slightly as ADS times should be considered when calculating practical TTK values. Additionally, it’ll give us room to emphasize the differences between Weapon classes.
– Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) January 8, 2024
As mentioned before, we will be reducing the speed of ADS across all weapons. This should increase the time to kill (TTK) since the ADS duration should be factored into the calculation. Therefore, this should allow us to highlight the differences between each weapon class.
In order to better understand this tweet, it is necessary to define the acronyms used. ADS (Aim Down Sights) is a barbaric acronym simply denoting the fact of look through his viewfinder. As to TTK, it corresponds to time to kill an enemy according to a precise calculation. Here, then, Raven Software wants to increase the average time taken to kill an enemy.. And to do this, the developers decided to increase the time needed for players to aim.
An idea that does not seem to please everyone since some members of the community consider that such a decision would be favorable to the camping, or the fact of remaining hidden in a place to better duck players. An initiative considered beneficial for the less good players since then, the difference in level required to perform on the game would be less high. In any case, we will have to wait for an official update and patch notes shared by Raven Software to learn more about these adjustments.
