Genshin Impact is currently in version 2.4, and its popularity continues to hold. As events unfold, and new characters continue to emerge, one in-game activity remains a bit more complex than the others: the Abyss. And this place is perfect for gauging a character’s popularity in high-level content…You can take this list as a 2023 tier list.
How was this calculation made?
This list was made via the site genshinlab.com’s Abyss Chart. This is updated daily, and is based on player IDs. It allows the site to list and rank the characters in order of use in the Abyss, which is the most difficult content in the game to date. It is therefore also an interesting site to see which characters may be worth raising to the maximum level, in order to recover the primo-gems of the Abyss.
What are the most used characters?
The list is very interesting, let’s see who it is composed of (Note, the top 7 swap characters quite often, see them as 7 characters at the top):
Kazuha is in the first place. It’s ultimately a fairly logical placement, even if it’s impressive to see a character limited to this place. As we told you in our analysis, Kazuha can enter almost any composition. So you can see it in all the most used team types to overcome the Abyss. He is an excellent support who makes his teammates shine.
Bennett is currently in second place. He’s a 4-star character, so much easier to pick up than limited characters. And its usefulness is well established: It does not need excellent equipment, it heals, and it greatly increases the damage of its team. And he doesn’t really have an enemy against him. If you have it, raise it to at least level 70, you won’t regret it
Zhongli is in 3rd place. What about the Geo daddy that hasn’t already been said? His shield will make a lot of fights much easier for you, sometimes even allowing you to not pay attention to the mechanics of certain enemies. And his ultimate ability that immobilizes enemies is very useful! However, MiHoYo is starting to take out more and more enemies that directly counter his shields (hello corrosion, and something else is obviously planned for 2.5). Caution, therefore.
Raiden is a character who had a somewhat complicated launch, but who over time made players aware of his power in certain team compositions, mainly due to his ultimate ability which hurts a lot and allows you to quickly kill the toughest enemies.
Xingqiu is, a bit like a Bennett, an excellent 4-star support, therefore easier to recover than a 5-star. His presence here is undoubtedly linked to his element Hydro, which goes well with the Pyro, and especially the cryo.
For the rest, you will notice quite tall characters like Ganyu, Hu Tao, Eula who are excellent DPS, and often with the characters seen above on the same team. And the least played character in Abyss is… Amber! Sorry to the fans!
