Horizon Forbidden West: weighty information revealed?

One of the most anticipated games of 2024, Horizon: Forbidden West is revealed every week a little more. Here, no official announcements but a data mining which shows the volume that the game of Guerrilla Games could take on our PS4 and PS5. And it’s, as usual, the PlayStation Game Size page that talks about size on Twitter:

Horizon: Forbidden West would therefore be 96.3 GB (without a possible update when released). A download volume which may turn out to be smaller upon installation, often with 10-20 GB less, which would put Forbidden West’s at around 75 GB. To get an idea, we can compare this size with that of Tsushima: Director’s Cut: the open world game of Sucker Punch weighs around 60 GB on PlayStation, with the expansion on the island of Iki. In addition to the weight, PlayStation Game Size specifies that the pre-load of the game will be available on February 11, one week before the official release of the title.

In addition, it is also legitimate to make the comparison with Horizon Zero Dawn, the first episode released on PS4 in 2017. At the time, it weighed 48 GB. A weight almost doubled with the port of the game on August 07, 2024: the game, whose PC edition includes the Frozen Wilds DLC, is estimated at 100 GB!

Obviously, this information must be taken with a grain of salt since no official announcement from Guerrilla or PlayStation has been made in this direction. While waiting for the game to be released on PS5 and PS4 on February 18, the fans of Aloy can always fall back on the long articles detailing the universe of Forbidden West: the last to date evokes the new mechanical creatures that the heroine will have to face on her way in the Prohibited West.
