New World: 3 months after release, can we play without suffering from bots? The answer will disappoint you

It’s not a secret, New World has seen a number of ups and downs since launching just over 3 months ago. Between the mysterious bugs, the worries with the economy of the game, and the thirst for blood of the NPCs, the players do not have time to say phew that a new complication is emerging. This time, the problem is none other than the harvester bots that have populated Amazon Game Studios’ MMO servers for some time.

As their name suggests, these bots spend most of their time on a predefined path to collect resources like plants and minerals, endlessly. One of them is also known to fish nonstop no matter what is going on around him. In addition to preventing others from accessing these resources, they destabilize the gaming economy to such an extent that players can no longer make money. New World fans react to these bots in quite diverse ways. Some are so disillusioned that they decide to treat it with humor, and throw parties for the bots when they reach important levels, like a birthday. This is particularly the case of the reddit user Donler, which explains that its server celebrated the birthday of a bot that reached level 40, and wait patiently for a level 36 bot to do the same to make another party.

Others are so frustrated that the bots still haven’t been banned that they’ve decided to take matters into their own hands by getting rid of these themselves. To do this, players have come up with some rather creative solutions, like surrounding the bots with tents or knocking them off cliffs to prevent them from continuing on their way. ‘But some have pushed the vice so far attract wild boars and hide behind bots to take damage until death follows, as you can see in the following video:

The only problem is that these techniques are moderately effective, since they do not permanently eliminate bots from the game. The only way to guarantee the end of a bot is banishment, and although developers take the time to ban them in large numbers, like last November when they blocked more than 7,700 accounts, they always end up coming back – much to the chagrin of the players.

And you, have you ever come across bots while playing New World? Did you manage to get rid of it? Tell us all in the comments!
