For an hour and a half, the developers showed players what to expect in New World. Were thus presented Mutators, which allow the studio to renew the interest of Expeditions by activating modifiers, and accompanying everything with a random rotation. Also, the studio announced that more test servers will be used, that the cohabitation of the PVE and the PVP is a major stake, or that of new weapons, quests and NPCs will arrive in the coming months.
Unfortunately, if you wanted to take advantage of the New Year to make a world transfer, that is simply no longer possible. Indeed, Amazon Game Studios has temporarily disabled functionality. The reason for this sudden blockage of functionality? The recent discovery of a bug, whose effects would be “exacerbated” by the transfer of world. It’s difficult to know more at the moment, because Luxendra, community manager for New World, contented himself with a short message on the official forum:
Greetings adventurers. We have temporarily disabled world transfers while we investigate a recently discovered issue, which is exacerbated by the transfer feature. This only affects players who have an existing Server Transfer Token. We will provide an update once we re-enable the feature. Thanks for understanding !
At present, we do not know the effects of this bug, nor when it will be resolved. According to some players who commented on the announcement on Reddit, it it could be that the bug concerns a problem of duplication or problems in the housing system. Players will be kept informed, but remain on hold for the time being. Remember that at the beginning of December, and after a conclusive test phase, Amazon initiated the merger of several servers, starting with Mardi and Britta.
The goal was to bring together players from these servers, and so remove a world that has become useless due to the drop in the number of players, considered normal and logical by Amazon. According to our colleagues at JeuxOnline, these mergers also aim to revive the interest of conquest, abandoned by some guilds for lack of combatants.
