For several years now, the manufacturer of gaming products Razer has sought to cast an ever wider net, to seduce gamers with its neon green ecosystem. During CES 2024, the brand once again found a way to stand out, announcing a partnership with the watchmaker Fossil.
The connected watch Razer x Fossil Gen 6 builds on Fossil Gen 6, a model that seeks to combine the advantages of a connected watch with the aesthetics of a more classic analog reference. However, this limited edition designed in concert with Razer is banking on futuristic design, which follows the trends imposed by the manufacturer of gaming peripherals.
Thus, on the design side, we find 44mm black case, as well as two 22 mm silicone bracelets interchangeable black and green. Discretion is therefore not necessarily sought. Three watch faces are available : Analog, Text and Chroma, the latter referring to Razer’s lighting technology.
Equipped with processor Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+, the Razer x Fossil Gen 6 is presented as a rather powerful connected watch, with good reactivity and a significant autonomy. We note, however, that Razer does not extend specifically on this one and is satisfied to point out that the rapid charge of the device allows to recover 80% of autonomy in 30 minutes connection. The Fossil site indicates, for its part, a possible use during “More than 24 hours” for the Gen 6 standard.
The watch is equipped with multiple sensors : accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, altimeter, PPG heart rate, SpO2, out-of-body IR and ambient light. This allows him to measure the wearer’s pulse, blood oxygen level, and other biometric data, to draw up an overall health check, all in real time. Statements can be viewed in a dedicated application.
Endowed with Wear OS and Wear OS 3 as soon as the update is available, the Razer x Fossil Gen 6 also allows you to receive notifications related to the smartphone to which it is connected. His built-in microphone is compatible with telephone calls, to be taken in hands-free mode. The watch is equipped with connectors Bluetooth 5.0 LE, Wi-FI and NFC SE, and it is equipped with a GPS chip. Charging is done by USB on a magnetic base provided.
The Razer x Fossil Gen 6 will be available soon at a price of 329 dollars, at the Fossil and Razer sites in Europe. Only 1337 copies will be marketed, an eye-catcher at the elite of gamers.
