From January 9 to 16, 2024, dozens and dozens of speedrunners showed off their skills to entice viewers around the world to donate. This year, all donations were intended for Prevent Cancer, a foundation to finance research and carry out prevention around these diseases.
Held at a distance again due to the pandemic, the Awesome Games Done Quick 2024 will remain, at least for a year, as a record edition. Indeed, in one week, the event raised $3,416,729, surpassing the 2024 edition and its 3.13 million dollars.
During the week, and especially thanks to the LeFrenchRestream channel, which rebroadcast and commented on the runs, we were treated to a run of Sekiro Shadows Die Twice blindfolded, to a game of Kena: Bridge of Spirits completed in 28 minutes by InsertLogic, to Portal 2 in 1 hour and a minute, It Takes Two, game of the year at the Game Awards and completed in 1 hour and 45 minutes, or even Deathloop in 26 minutes, Lost Judgment in 2h37, or even The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask in less than 39 minutes. In all, 140 performances were performed during the week.
For now, the replays of the runs are available on the Games Done Quick Youtube channel, but should quickly appear on that of the French Restream. In any case, this new edition is a success, welcomed by Games Done Quick and Prevent Cancer, who said on Twitter:
