Age of Empires IV, like its predecessor Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings, mainly takes place during medieval times. Similar to previous license installments, the player is led to choose a civilization and make it prosper through the ages by collecting resources, developing its civilian and military units, and constructing buildings. Age of Empires IV combines strategy and history with its campaigns inspired by real events, like the Hundred Years War or the conquest of England. It is therefore up to you to choose among the different civilizations, each with its specificities, and to do whatever it takes to see your empire grow and your enemies kneel before you.
