Sonic Frontiers: is there a French dub for the blue hedgehog’s Breath of the Wild? The official response given

Announced in a rush in May 2024, Sonic Frontiers appears to be calming things down. The next Sega title, which is expected at the end of 2024, communicates a lot of information as important as each other in a dropper. After having released a first trailer at the Game Awards to the tunes of Breath of the Wild, the next title of the Sonic team had unveiled its cast of American voices. Today, these are the various locations of Sonic Frontiers that have been shared by the official Hedgehog Twitter page:

On the program therefore, Japanese will be dubbed and subtitled for aficionados of the original version. As expected, English is also present despite the absence of the voice of Roger Craig Smith. For fans who are fond of French, don’t panic: Sonic Frontiers will be subtitled but also dubbed in French.

And if part of the cast of American voices was unveiled at the Game Awards, the French voices are missing. Nevertheless, we can legitimately expect a return of the traditional voice actors of the saga: Alexandre gillet (Frodo in The Lord of the Rings, Ezreal in League of Legends …) for Sonic, Marie-Eugénie Marshal (Mary Jane in the first Spider-Man, The Witcher 3) for Tails or even Sebastien Desjours (Ant-Man, Game Of Thrones or Jhin in League of Legends) for Knuckles. That being said, one shouldn’t rule out the likelihood of seeing Sonic voice actor Malik Bentalha in the 2024 movie for the role.

Moreover, it is worth remembering that the film Sonic 2 is also expected in theaters in 2024. It is still Malik Bentalha who lends his voice to Sonic, while it is Marie-Eugénie Maréchal who makes his vocal cords vibrate for Tails. On the American side, we know that Idris Elba will be behind the microphone for Knuckles! It’s Jim Carrey who comes back to Dr Robotnik. The film will therefore be a good way to wait for Sonic Frontiers, not expected before the end of the year 2024 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, PS4 and Xbox One.
