We told you earlier this week about Wordle, the new game that is obsessing the Internet, and especially the social network Twitter, where many users post every day their ability or not to find the word of the day.

A simple and addicting concept: every day, a 5-letter word in English to find, six chances to suggest the correct word, the game indicating in yellow the letters of the proposed word which are good but badly placed and in green those which are in the correct position. good place. Once the Wordle of the day has been found or not, you can easily share your grid on social networks and your progress towards the word (identical for all players of the day) and in particular compare your speed in finding it.
Wordle’s success quickly inspired word game developers: that’s how it went live a few days ago “Sutom“, a kind of French version of Wordle but which is inspired by the cult TV show of the matinees of France 2: Motus, hosted by Thierry Beccaro with a masterful hand for 29 consecutive years, from 1990 to 2019. The latter is conquering the French internet , it is true that it is easier to play with the dictionary of your mother tongue, but there are some small differences.
I’m going to go crazy big asshole game go give the next word that I one shot

Sutom, the French counterpart of Wordle using the rules of the Motus show, can be played simply in any browser on computer or mobile on the Sutom official website.
Sutom’s rules differ from Wordle in these ways:
You still have six tries to find the word Sutom to guess.
Having remained on the air for almost 30 consecutive years, the Motus game has become, to say the least, cult and different strategies to be effective have been tested and validated by the thousands of candidates who have participated. The author of these lines having had the chance to participate in the cult show shortly after his disappearance, here is the method to win in Motus recommended by the production team to participants, and which fully apply to win at Sutom.
In Sutom, it is extremely tempting to seek to complete the word with the well-placed letters initially discovered, but this strategy of wanting to “plug the holes” can lead you, on the contrary, to a dead end, to try to complete the word and its ending without knowing with which letters to do it… as you repeat your already secured red letters instead of trying to uncover other valid letters using the entire proposition line.
To win every time in Sutom, you really have to get used to looking for as many clues as possible thanks to the first 4 proposals.. And to do this, you have to know some magic words …
If you have watched the Motus show a few times, perhaps you have wondered about the meaning of certain words spoken regularly on the air by the candidates, but frankly unknown in the everyday French language that we speak: do you know what what a TOUAILLE ? Answer: a coarse cloth serving as a tea towel or napkin. Do you know any SEWING (land planted with hazelnut trees) near you? However, these unusual words have the pleasant advantage of covering the five main vowels of the alphabet in a single clause., and therefore immediately know which vowels are in play in your grid. Here are words for each initial possible that will systematically get you started in your Sutom of the day:
Start systematically with these very open words in your grid, then try to vary the word beginnings and endings on the following three lines (an adjective in ANT, a past participle in the feminine plural in EES …) and you will undoubtedly always have enough clues to deduce with the two remaining moves the solution of your Sutom!
Motus screenshots illustrating this article are from May 22, 2017 issue, available on YouTube, France 2 having uploaded many old episodes on a dedicated channel which will delight the most nostalgic.
