The Day Before: a sumptuous trailer in 4K under RTX for the game halfway between The Division and The Last of Us

PC

Developed by the Siberian studio Fntastic, Day Before quickly built a solid reputation with enticing promises and great ambitions: it is a third person shooter game, focusing on survival in a gigantic post-apocalyptic open world. All the elements of the genre are present, from hordes of undead to aggressive survivors through multiple elements of crafts and big multiplayer mechanics.

We can thus get down to exploring the great American megalopolises and their countryside together, with even the possibility of building real colonies., establishing markets to collect or sell loot and deeply customize your equipment. Raids will also be part of the game, as well as PvP for a tension that we are told constant. In short, here is a frankly ambitious game which is inspired by big tenors of the genre – we can quote The Division, The Last of Us, DayZ and others – and which also relies on a first-rate technique, which has the gift of arousing curiosity.

To perfect your graphics on PC, The Day Before has therefore formalized its partnership with Nvidia to support RTX, its own technology and the real spearhead of ray tracing. As a reminder, this allows ultra-realistic light management in real time, whether in its volume, its reflections on surfaces or the reproduction of shadows. Obviously, as much to say that it is better to have good equipment to make everything run smoothly.

Nvidia just released a trailer illustrating the rendering of the game under RTX just to make some salivate (and in 4K, please, DLSS included): one minute of explosive video, exploring in passing certain bombastic environments like a faux Manhattan, a vast forest or the interior of a shopping mall.

For all those eager to try the experience, note that the PC version of The Day Before is scheduled for June 21, 2024. PS5 and Xbox Series versions have also been confirmed, of which more details are awaited.
