On the occasion of a trailer published yesterday on Youtube, Netflix recalled the release of volume 2 of Dota: Dragon’s Blood. Released on March 25, 2024, the series is inspired by the game Defense of the Ancient 2 (also called DotA 2). There are several champions, all with different characteristics and history. As part of the Netflix series, we follow the adventures of the Dragon Knight involved in events the magnitude of which he would never have imagined. In the anime, we find Mirana and Luna (both from the game) who will be at the heart of the story.
A story that continues since yesterday since volume 2, which serves as the second season, is available. Once again, eight episodes of approximately 25 minutes each await viewers. Announced in April 2024, it took nine months to see its sequel arrive. What about a season 3? Nothing has been done yet, and we had to wait a little month to hear about a season 2. So wait & see.
As mentioned above, DotA comes directly from the Defense of the Ancients game universe. For the little story, DotA was created on the Warcraft 3 map editor by a player named Eul. He himself takes up the idea of Aeon64, who is developing a special map for Starcraft: two teams of five players compete on three distinct paths with the aim of destroying the opposing base.. The concept is posed and gives birth to the genre of MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena), today very popular thanks in particular to League of Legends.
The story can make you smile, especially since League of Legends has produced its own animated series with Netflix. Entitled Arcane, it takes place in the universe of Runeterra and illustrates the stories taking place in Piltover & Zaun. We find there, Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn or Ekko, all from the game. Hosted by the French of Fortiche, the series is a hit in its debut with 40 million hours watched at its launch on November 06, 2024. A second season is already planned, but for which it will be necessary to be patient.
