The header video is the official trailer for Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku. It was broadcast during the Jump Fiesta, during the day of Sunday December 19.

In the oven and in the mill for MAPPA! The animation studio, popularized with season 4 of The attack of the Titans, has not stopped since. In charge of the animation of the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 but also the animated adaptation of Chainsaw Man, MAPPA has another project in its purse: that of adapting Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, the manga of Yuji Kaku.

It was during the event Jump Fiesta, meeting organized by the editor of Weekly Shonen Jump to talk about his next projects, that Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku unveiled a first trailer without specifying a release date. For the more impatient, the manga is already published in France with thirteen volumes. It is located in Japan, during the feudal Edo period (1603 – 1868). Gabimaru, the greatest shinobi in the country is condemned to death except that no executioner manages to take his life. To be exonerated and released, he will have to follow Sagiri, a singular executor who asks him to bring the elixir of immortality.

That being said, there will be plenty for MAPPA fans to do in the coming weeks. The Japanese studio, founded by a former Madhouse Studio alumnus, has many projects underway. As mentioned above, MAPPA is behind the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (of which an unpublished trailer was released during the Jump Fiesta) which recounts events prior to Gege Akutami’s manga. But that’s not all ! In collaboration with Madhouse, MAPPA also produced the animation of Takt Op. Destiny, a work that orbits classical music. The final episode of Season 1 will be released tomorrow. Last project to come and not the least, this is the adaptation of the ultimate story arc of The attack of the Titans which is orchestrated by MAPPA via the second part of season 4. Its broadcast begins on January 09 in Japan.

If the three works mentioned above speak of a near future, the future seems less busy for MAPPA. The studio is behind the animated adaptation of Chainsaw Man, the release of which was formalized for 2024 at this same edition of Jump Fiesta. Regarding the adaptation of Hell’s Paradise, it has not been subject to any release period for the moment.
