Henry Cavill (the Witcher) could see himself playing in a Red Dead Redemption adaptation

PS 4

Expected this Saturday, season 2 of The Witcher will land on Netflix. Some media were able to see it in advance, during a promotional campaign in Madrid. On this occasion, Henry Cavill was interviewed by the media GameReactor who asked him which video game he would like to see adapted with him in it. Here is his response:

Hmm, good question. It’s hard to say, because you have to link a license with a publisher and there are really a lot of games. But I started playing Red Dead Redemption 2 – I know I’m a little late, but I really enjoy playing it. A game like this could be really fun to adapt.

However, no adaptation of Red Dead Redemption 2 has been announced for the moment and we should not see any hidden message from Henry Cavill in this statement. But if Rockstar were to lean on the subject, she would have a branded contender already open to a role in the series.

This is not the first time that Cavill has shown interest in a possible film adaptation of a video game. Just yesterday, the British actor mentioned enjoying the Mass Effect trilogy by indicating that he loved the first three episodes and “whether they would make a wonderful series of films or a great series“.

If the actor must be recognized for his passion for video games and their adaptations, it will certainly take a very long time to see him at work in something other than The Witcher. That’s good, the second season of the series is expected on Netflix on December 17th.
