The studio in charge of it, The Coalition, would indeed work on another title as a priority for a very specific reason.
The American studio first worked on a brand new IP and for a defined purpose: get your hands on Unreal Engine 5 to be able to take out heavy artillery on Gears 6 and rely on better know-how. Therefore, this first new software would be “A smaller game” and would be scheduled for 2024.
Despite the certain credibility of Jez Corden who is not his first attempt in terms of leaks, it is still and always to take the information with tweezers while awaiting official confirmation. Nevertheless, it is clear that his words coincide rather well with the news: firstly because the rumor of a new franchise in development at The Coalition is not new, and secondly because the firm has already shown its interest in Unreal Engine 5 by participating in the making of The Matrix Awakens. So let’s try to take our pain patiently.
