Much repaired thanks to numerous patches sometimes weighing several tens of gigabytes, Cyberpunk 2077 is now looking to the future with the development of the first expansion and the upcoming arrival of the PS5 / Xbox Series version. PS4 and Xbox One fat versions obviously cannot be saved, but the work of the developers has clearly paid off on PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, and PC.
It is also on PC that the general appreciation has changed, with many positive comments since the deployment of the last patch. Obviously, nothing makes us forget the launch of the game, but the title as it is today seems to be appreciated by recent buyers. A situation which even allows the CD Projekt game to be in contention for two prizes during the Steam Awards, a ceremony submitted to the vote of the public, and presenting various categories, some quite original with regard to the other awards ceremony.
There are in fact the categories “unwavering love”, “best game in which you are a nullity”, “exceptional game rich in stories” or “moment of relaxation”. We will come back to the different names then, but let’s come back to the case of Cyberpunk 2077, which is in the running to be elected game of the year, alongside Valheim, New World, Resident Evil Village and Forza Horizon 5, but which can also claim the title in the category “exceptional game rich in stories”. In front of it, we find Life is Strange: True Colors, Resident Evil Village, Days Gone, and Mass Effect: Legendary Edition!
Nothing says he’ll win either of the two prizes at the time of the handover in early January, but his presence shows a great improvement in the game situation, a little more than twelve months after a launch which will remain a textbook case.
