SteelRising has several peculiarities that make this title developed by a studio based in the capital of our country stand out from the Action-RPGs that we are used to seeing. First of all its context, since the game takes place in Paris during an alternative 18th century in which Louis XVI terrorizes his people thanks to an army of automatons. We play Aegis, one of those automatons who fulfills the role of bodyguard of Queen Marie-Antoinette and who must find her creator in order to oppose the violent reign of the king.
This new trailer for SteelRising tells us that the king went mad and came to believe in a theory called “animal magnetism”, also known as mesmerism, which was a theory actually developed by the German physician. Franz Anton Mesmer and that the king Louis XVI has actually studied. Historically, this disparaged theory has been refuted. Our protagonist, Aegis the Automaton Dancer, is presented as “the key” and as something capable of doing much more than dancing. She is also described as “the angel of death” and it is believed that she “feeds” on the deceased.
In this trailer, the fight scenes are impressive and give a good feeling of rise in power, during fights that put Aegis against more and more opponents, whether they are made of flesh and bone or who are ‘they are humanoid puppets. Enticing images that confirm that SteelRising is a title to follow very closely, pending its release scheduled for June 2024.
