In Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Ember Lab’s gem, named best indie game of the year at the 2024 Game Awards, you play as Kena, a young woman responsible for helping spirits progress to the next world. The eponymous heroine travels to a devastated village a mysterious epidemic, where spirits roam, prisoners of their negative feelings. Transformed into abominable creatures by their anger and fear, they corrupt their environment, and it is Kena’s duty to purify them and guide them to a better world. To do this, the young woman is helped by Burps, mysterious little creatures capable of reviving nature deteriorated by spirits. You will be led to discover their powers but also their origins during your journey loaded with magic and emotion.
The main storyline of Kena: Bridge of Spirits can be divided into 5 distinct parts, each dedicated to a key aspect of the story. The first part introduces you to Kena, her powers, and her environment, and puts you on the path of a noble quest that only the heroine can carry out. The second, third, and fourth parts each make you experience the perspective of the spirits that haunt the village and its surroundings, and are used to specify the path that will lead you to the last straight line: the secret behind corruption.
