The header video is the trailer revealing the development of Alan Wake 2. It aired at the Game Awards on December 10, 2024.
Five days after a return trip to the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles where his Alan Wake 2 was announced, one of the leading thinkers of Remedy Interactive and the Creative Director Alan Wake continues to talk about his title. On Twitter, he even provided an update on the camera and the actors behind the main protagonist:
Thank you for being as excited about Alan Wake 2 as we are ❤️🔥🔦. A couple of easy clarifications before we go dark to continue the work. Yes, this is a 3rd person game. Yes, both Ilkka Villi and Matthew Porretta return in the role of Alan Wake. #AlanWake @alanwake @remedygames pic.twitter.com/8UvzXGgKdE

Thank you for being as enthusiastic as we are about Alan Wake 2. A few clarifications, however, before going back to work in the shadows. Yes, this is a third person view game. Yes, Ilkka Villi and Matthew Porretta are back to play Alan Wake.
Alan Wake’s second opus will therefore follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, retaining the third-person view and keeping the same actors: Matthew Porretta being the voice actor, while Ilkka Villi lends his movements to the character.
But these are not the only information distilled by Sam Lake, and for good reason since we were telling you about it on Monday. In one interview with IGN, the screenwriter and creative director of the saga spoke about the graphic qualities of his title. Like Quantum Break and Control, it uses the Northlight graphics engine which, according to Sam Lake, allows the studio to go to great lengths in their storytelling. A game engine in the service of history but which should not put aside the graphics for all that according to Sam Lake:
Alan Wake 2 will be, by far, the most beautiful Remedy ever
If no image or gameplay video has yet been released by Remedy, we will have to wait for the release of Alan Wake 2 to get a final opinion. The game is not expected until 2024 on PC, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.
